multiple label menu with text area and button using GUIs in python
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
Using the code below, I need to create a multiple label menu containing each line. The text area on the window and button asks the user to enter the number of their choice. The showWarning dialogue then displays the message example "You selected to enter a new item."
I tried a couple of methods of GUI but was unsuccessful. It would be great if somebody can help me with this.
from tkinter import *
from tkinter.messagebox import *
root_window = Tk()
root_window.withdraw()
enter_new_item = 1
remove_an_item = 2
display_number_items = 3
display_list_items = 4
remove_all_items = 5
exit_menu = 9
selected_option = 0
#loop to display the menu until exit is selected
while selected_option != exit_menu:
# Display the menu
print (" ")
print ("Please select the number from one of the following options.")
print ("1) Enter a new item.")
print ("2) Remove an item by its element number.")
print ("3) Display the number of items in the list.")
print ("4) Display a list of the items.")
print ("5) Remove all items from the list.")
print ("9) Exit.")
selected_option = int(input("Option: "))
# validate the selected option
# test for invalid selection
if selected_option in range (1,6) or selected_option == 9:
#if selection is valid
if selected_option == enter_new_item:
print("Enter an item.")
elif selected_option == remove_an_item:
print("Remove an item.")
elif selected_option == display_number_items:
print("Display the number of items.")
elif selected_option == display_list_items:
print("Display a list of items.")
elif selected_option == remove_all_items:
print("Remove all items.")
elif selected_option == exit_menu:
print("Bye.")
