Megamax is a cable and satellite television channel that broadcasts in Central Eastern Europe, owned by the AMC Networks International Central Europe unit of the AMC Networks International, It is aimed primarily at young males, 8–14 years old. The channel launched on 1 February 2012, replacing Zone Club. The channel broadcasts 24 hours a day in 2015 onwards.


Megamax's mascots are two robots named Spart-e and I-ron. [1][2] The voice announcer of Megamax is Simon Kornél. [3]

History


Megamax was launched at April 18, 2011 at 4:00pm by a Hungrian Cable and stalite provider called T-Home. By the time of Megamax's launch, Zone Club aired from 16:00 to 22:00. [2] In September 1, 2011, Megamax increased broadcast time to 13:00, and then by December 1 to 7:00. [4]


By February 2012, Megamax was launched on UPC Direct in Hungary.[5][6][7] Due to the channel's success, it expanded to Romania on November 19, 2012, and December 1, 2012, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The same year when it launch a On Demand service in only at Hungary.[8] Cable and satellite companies began carrying Megamax in Slovakia during 2012.[9][10]


One year later, Megamax launched websites for the Czech Republic and Hungary. Megamax began being available in more cable and satellite providers in Czech Republic and Slovakia during 2013.[11][12][13][14][15][16]


In October 1, 2014, Megamax in Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia began running in 24 hours and then at January 15, 2015 in Romania.[17]
