Visual Studio 2017 details of install individual components
Where can I find a comprehensive list of the files and features that will be installed when I check off each component or workload in the installer for Visual Studio 2017?
Each component is named but does not fully describe what I gain by including it.
This is prevalent, for example, if I want to install the minimum components to make a Visual Basic console application. That is, project templates, code editor, compiler, debugger. The workload for .NET Desktop Development has too much. It includes C# and WinForms and EntityFramework and several versions of .NET. So instead of using the workload, I would choose individual components. But which ones? There are no further descriptions for each of the listed items to explain what they are for and how they will effect my Visual Studio experience.
