Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) Joe De Sena is the face of the Spartan Race, appearing on various television shows, and has become a fitness advocate. He is also a fierce competitor and has won various competition which have been listed. Notability[edit]

De Sena may be a fierce competitor, etc., but that does not establish WP:NOTABILITY in terms of a Wikipedia article. Also, the description of De Sena was complicated in the text by the numerous promotional sections the text. As the material (now) is barebones, and really not too encyclopedic, I think adding using the references about how he created the Spartan Races can be used in that article. Once that is accomplished, a WP:BLAR to Spartan race can be accomplished. – S. Rich (talk) 15:24, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Defrauding charity races[edit]

Samtar, thanks for getting involved with this article. Can you please look at the last sentence? I couldn't find anything in the source that backs up the allegation so it seems like a clear BLP violation. --NeilN ^{talk to me} 13:51, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

@NeilN: I agree, the source suggests a bit of foul play but "defrauding" is a very strong word. This, plus the source (WTSP 10 News) is a little too tabloid for me, especially with a tagline of ".mw-parser-output .inline-quote-talkfont-family:Georgia,"DejaVu Serif",serif;color:#008560;quotes:none.mw-parser-output .inline-quote-talk-italicfont-family:inherit;font-style:italic.mw-parser-output .inline-quote-talk-marksquotes:""""""
