How to record screen then save it as .GIF?

Trying to replicate the Samsung Smart Select feature.



Here's some questions:



  1. How to create widget where upon click it would generate a box on screen with 2 buttons, "Record" and "High Quality"

  2. How to record screen and upon clicking stop it would save as .GIF

Just need somebody to point the right direction, as i've been researching on mediaprojection but i don't think its the right direction.
