Add new user to SharePoint Online without sending invitation email
I have been working with a SharePoint Online site trying to find a way to add new users to the site to the SharePoint groups without sending the SharePoint invitation, this is not an issue when adding existing site users to new groups. The user adding new users has created a template outside of SharePoint that is sent to new users with full details and links on how to access/use the site they have been given access to. The email invitation sent by SharePoint is effectively useless to them and creates unnecessary confusion.
We have tried injecting javascript controls to uncheck the checkbox on the invitation (it automatically checks itself when it recognizes a new user then greys out the option for the box to be un-checked manually) but everything we have done has not worked. The admin users are still forced to send the email in order to add a new site user to a group. I have tried searching for ways around this, but have not found a solution.
If anyone here has found a way around this, I would greatly appreciate information on steps taken to prevent this email from having to be sent.
