American rapper and record producer Kanye West has released eight studio albums, two collaborative studio albums, two live albums, three video albums and four mixtapes. West has sold 21 million albums and 100 million digital downloads worldwide.[1] Seven of his studio albums have been certified at least platinum in the United States,[2] and his output has been generally met with consistent commercial and critical popularity.[3]

West's debut album The College Dropout was released in February 2004 to critical and commercial success, debuting at number two on the US Billboard 200 and later being certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[2][4][5] In August 2005, West released his second studio album Late Registration, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, with first week sales of 860,000 copies.[6] The album went on to sell over three million copies and has attained five multi-platinum certifications, including a triple-platinum certification from the RIAA.[2][7] In September 2007, West's third studio album Graduation debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 following its release and shipped over 957,000 units in its first week, breaking the record set by his previous album.[4][8]Graduation held the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for over a month and also topped the UK Albums Chart.[9] West's fourth studio album 808s & Heartbreak was released in November 2008 and became his third consecutive number one release on the Billboard 200.[4]

In November 2010, West released his fifth studio album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and continued his streak of number one albums on the chart,[4] as did Watch the Throne, a collaboration with rapper Jay-Z released in August 2011.[4] West's sixth studio album Yeezus was released in June 2013 and debuted at number one in the United States, with first-week sales of 327,000 copies.[10]The Life of Pablo followed three years later on February 14, 2016, released exclusively through the streaming service Tidal and becoming another chart-topping album for West.[4] In 2018 West released his eighth studio album ye and his second collaborative album KIDS SEE GHOSTS.
