Why E-mail server dont use HTTP protocol instead of SMTP to send E-mail to another E-mail server? [on hold]

Since clients use HTTP to send email from browser to E-mail server as well as clients read/receive their emails using HTTP.
So why E-mail servers don't communicate also through HTTP.
Second: Can we use HTTP Protocol as Push instead of Pull Protocol !?
