What are the options for booking short-stay accommodation between London and Newcastle at very short notice?

5 I am planning a month-long trip to the UK this June and am going to need places to stay. The trip will consist of myself and my girlfriend walking from London to Newcastle, so we will not be staying in the same place twice, and we will be unable to guarantee where we will be on a given day. From my research, it seems like most lodging types (YHA, hotels, Airbnb, etc) require advanced booking and a definite itinerary. Really, I'm looking for somewhere I can book 2-3 hours before arriving maximum, if not walk-in. Neither of us are seasoned travellers but we do not require anything high-end; we're currently considering campgrounds as plan A. Are there any decent, widespread options for last-minute lodging? uk accommodation short-notice share | improve this question edited Jan 14 '17 at 21:28 Willeke ♦ 30.7k 10 86 162 asked Jan 14 '17 at 19:46 Alex F Alex F 28 5 YHA does not look promising, unless prepare
