“Es ist” instead of “der/sie ist”

“Es ist” instead of “der/sie ist” I am new to German so would would be grateful if someone could help with this trivial question. When doing some exercises from my course book I saw such example Der Computer ist nicht neu. Es ist ein alter Computer. The question is why in the second sentence they use "es ist" instead of "er ist". Also there were some examples for feminine and neutral nouns as well (die Uhr, das Bild) and all of them used "es ist" in the second sentence. 1 Answer 1 'Es' can refer back to a non-neuter or plural noun, as an alternative to the expected masculine, feminine, or plural pronoun: -Siehst du die Kinder dort? Es/Sie sind meine -Seine Mutter lebt noch. Es/Sie ist eine alte Frau 'Es' can as well be used in this sense with a plural verb and corresponds to 'they': -Es sind Ärzte. -Was sind es? 'Es' can as well be used with personal pronouns: -Du bist es. -Seid ihr es gewesen? Also in a cl

ChartJS: Clicking on legend option makes line chart ugly

Image
up vote 0 down vote favorite I have used the example to add a vertical line on my line chart, I took a reference from here https://github.com/chartjs/Chart.js/issues/3803#issuecomment-365450035 Everything works fine until I try to toggle legend option in my line chart and line chart starts to look strange. Before I click the legend option chart looks like below, and once I toggle the red color legend option then it looks like below, Here is my code the only thing I have changed is I have used Dash line instead of the normal line on canvas, plugins: [ beforeEvent: function(chart, e) if ((e.type === 'mousemove') && (e.x >= e.chart.chartArea.left) && (e.x <= e.chart.chartArea.right) ) chart.options.customLinePlugin.x = e.x; , afterDraw: function(chart, easing) let ctx = chart.chart.ctx; let chartArea = chart.chartArea; let mainCanvas = chart.canvas; let pluginObj = chart.options.customLinePlugin; let x = pluginObj.x; if (!isNaN(x))

London Double Header

The London Double Header began in 2004 and typically opens the season of Premiership Rugby (currently known as the Gallagher Premiership due to sponsorship), the top rugby union league in England. Two games are played consecutively at Twickenham Stadium, originally involving the 'big four' London origin teams of the Premiership, Harlequins, London Irish, Wasps (London Wasps until the 2014–15 season) and Saracens. Harlequins were relegated from the premiership at the end of the 2004–05 season and thus for the 2005–06 season Leeds Tykes (now known as Yorkshire Carnegie) were included instead. The same applied to London Irish in 2016 who were replaced. The matches form part of the regular season fixtures, with one team nominated as the home side for each match. Since 2008 (2016 being an exception) and the inception of The Big Game, Harlequins only compete in the double header as an away side in order to reduce the number of home games they play away from the Stoop. Since 2015 and
