How to custom pyspark stringindexer to order

I'm new to pyspark and currently building a GBM model under Spark version 2.2.0 while I noticed there's issue when applied one-hot-encoding to convert the categorical features using stringindexer.

According to the documentation:

StringIndexer maps labels to numbers according to the descending order
of label frequency.

In the later version of Spark > 2.3.0, I noticed this issue has been resolved, and there're ways to set the param to:

indexer = StringIndexer(InputCol="label",OutputCol="labelIndex",stringOrderType ='alphabet_desc')

  1. 'freq_desc': descending order by label frequency (most frequent label
    assigned 0)

  2. 'freq_asc': ascending order by label frequency (least

    frequent label assigned 0)

  3. 'alphabet_desc': descending alphabetical order

  4. 'alphabet_asc': ascending alphabetical order

My question is, under spark 2.2.0, how to custom the StringIndexer to make the above function happen (stringOrderType ='alphabet_desc'), eg. mapping labels to numbers to follow the alphabetical order instead of the label frequency to avoid causing issue with the one-hot-encoding?

Thank you for taking time review my question :)
